Here
at Pack String Ranch Outfitters, we consider ourselves
really blessed to live in this wildlife mecca of Colorado.
Colorado’s mule deer are legendary for being the
biggest and best in the west. Before moving from Washington
State 12 years ago, I hunted mule deer for 20 years
in my home state as well as in Idaho, Montana, British
Colombia,
and Wyoming. I can tell you that I saved the best for
last. Colorado’s mule deer are awesome!!! And we’re
fortunate enough to have premium private land in some
of the best trophy areas of Colorado. The last four
years on
our plains ranchs, 20 out of 26 hunters harvested great
bucks (= 80%), most grossing between 160 and 206. On
our mountain ranch
we hosted 12 hunters, all took home mature mountain
mule deer bucks.
We
are excited to add a new hunt for 2011 for white tail bucks.
4 of our hunters have harvested nice bucks from 8 points
to 12 points, the largest grossing 156 inches. This will
be a exclusive white tail buck hunt.
Even the antelope on our ranches sport spectacular
head gear. Between 2007 and 2010 we hosted
13 antelope buck rifle hunts. We had 100% harvest, all
great bucks with antlers
between 13” and 15 2/8". The archers and muzzle
loaders have great fun, with 95% shot opportunities.
A muzzle loader hunter this year took the biggest buck
taken to date by all weapons.
Our Mountain Wilderness Elk hunts are second
to none. We have awesome tent camps and hunt the biggest
herd in the United States. The Flat Tops Wilderness is
legendary for having lots of elk, and the most forgiving
terrain that elk inhabit. It’s a great place for
flat-landers to hunt without the vertical terrain elk
typically live in.
We are proud to be a small operation. We
host only a few hunters and we treat them right. We are
honest regarding your probability of harvesting your
quarry, and first rate in our accommodations and guiding
services. We welcome you to talk to hunters we’ve
