I
have had the pleasure of hunting with outfitters around
the world. I have hunted five star lodges in Africa,
drop camps in leaky, cold tents and all locations in
between. In 2008, I hunted mule deer with Patrick Faast
and the crew at Pack String. I truly enjoyed my hunt
and the time spent with these guys. Part of the hunt
to me is the time in camp and the camaraderie that comes
with it. This hunt felt as though I had called a group
of friends and asked them to join me for the weekend
at my own camp.

You
may arrive at Pack String Outfitters as strangers, but
you leave as family. Patrick and his staff do an incredible
job at making you feel welcome to their camp. I have
had the opportunity to hunt with some of the best outfitters
all over the world and Pack String is right up there
with the best of them. Patrick and the guides all knew
the land very well and had us on game every day. I should
also mention that with a full time cook on staff the
food was awesome and everyone was always in line for
seconds.
Our
group of 6 chose a very challenging hunt, spot and stalk
archery antelope. If you have hunted antelope before
you know what I am talking about. Going into this style
of hunt, our expectations were not too high, we would
have been happy with a 25 to 30 percent opportunity rate,
but Patrick and his crew delivered in a big way, we were
100% shot opportunity with a 66% harvest rate and we
weren’t sitting in blinds. This is spot and
stalk with stick and string!
I
can’t think of a better way to start off your archery
hunting season than by dusting cobwebs from the previous
fall off your bow and chasing some speed goats around
with Pack String Outfitters. We already booked for the
next season.

— — — I
have hunted 4 years with Patrick Faast / Pack String
Ranch Outfitters and they are 4-for-4 in delivering a
great hunt and following thru on all of our arrangements.
I am kind of a do-it-yourself type hunter, but with age
comes wisdom, and Pack String Ranch Outfitters has made
my hunts much more enjoyable and of course much easier.

I
wanted to do something special with my family. I recently
rekindled a deep love for hunting and had a desire to
pass on that tradition to my sons and daughters. My wife
liked the idea so we booked a Mule Deer hunt for me and
my boys, and an Antelope hunt for me to share with my
wife and daughters. Patrick with Pack String Outfitters
hosted these two separate hunts and it turned out to
exceed my expectations. We all harvested great trophy
animals and had an outstanding family adventure as well.
The accommodations and food were top notch, and the camaraderie
with the PSRO staff was superb. Our whole family will
cherish this memory for the rest of our lives!

Christian — — — My
wife and I booked an Antelope Hunt with Pack String
Ranch Outfitters in October of 2008. We had a great
time, my wife
got a 14 1/2" Antelope on the first day of the hunt,
and of course I had to beat her, so I got a 15" Antelope
the second day. We used a cardboard cow decoy to get close
enough for a shot. We had a blast. We had more fun on this
hunt then any other hunt I've been on. I also came back in
November of 2008 for a very successful Mule Deer Hunt, in
the Conifer area. By the way when we got home, we had our
Antelope scored SCI and my wife's Antelope was 1 1/2" bigger
than mine. For a great time, give Antelope hunting
a try. It's a lot of fun and an easy hunt.

When
I booked the bison hunt with Patrick Faast of Packstring
Ranch Outfitters,
I really didn’t know what to expect
other than it would a great time with an outstanding guide.
I was not disappointed!
Patrick
picked me up at the airport and we drove out to the hunting
lodge.
On the way to the hunting lodge Patrick
provided a briefing on the area where the hunt was to take
place, the proposed approach to the hunt, what to expect
during the hunt, and all of the other information I needed
to make this hunt the best possible. When we arrived at the
hunting lodge, I was surprised by the wonderful accommodations.
I’m not sure what I expected, but this was great and
things just kept getting better.
The next morning we arrived early at the hunting area consisting
of rolling hills, gullies, and scrub brush to begin our hunt
for the mighty Buffalo. It took a little over an hour to
locate the herd and another 25 minutes or so to pick out
the right bull. After stacking the herd for about another
hour, we were able to find the right spot to set up and wait
for the right moment to take the shot. As the herd was making
their way across the plain, it took about another 20 minutes
before the opening came to be able to take the shot. Being
nervous and excited I was fortunate to have Patrick there
to provide a calming influence during that 20 minutes waiting
for the opportunity to take the shot. When the time came,
I took the shot and the bull went down. What an awesome experience!
One I will never forget and look to repeat.
That evening in the hunting lodge as we talked about the
hunt, I was filled with a sense of accomplishment and pleasure
over a hunt that had met and exceeded all of my expectations
in no small part due to Packstring Ranch Outfitters wonderfully
experienced and competent staff. I will be back!

I
didn’t get an Elk, but I thoroughly enjoyed the
hunt! I wanted a wilderness pack-in on horseback experience
with no competition from 4-wheelers, and Patrick delivered
just that. I saw a good number of Elk and got close to
a few. Patrick has good people working for him. I would
do it again in a heartbeat.
