The Flat Tops Wilderness elk herd is the largest in the United States. It boasts vast herds of elk with bull to cow ratios at some of the highest in the state. The scenery in this beautiful land is breathtaking. Vast meadows with about 50% stands of pine trees. And there are literally hundreds of lakes to add to the landscape. The land is fairly flat, as the name indicates, which makes it easy on the legs while hunting.
